The whole bin saga has started again… do we reduce the size of our bins, do we have fortnightly collection… with the aim of getting folk to recycle more! Anything to reduce our waste problem I reakon… What do you think?

saw this advert yesterday… wen the live earth concert was on there was a carbon footprint calculator on 7/7/07.
on that one u had to put in ur elec bills n stuff about to try the other
Try the link above to calculate your carbon footprint. it asks you questions about bills also. It does take a little while to load and complete to get through all 3 sections. Well worth it though! My emissions are just shy of 6 tonnes per year. Very bad. Must reduce even more…

Interesting… The transport and house stuff bumped up mine. And I consider my lifestyle to be well below average – however, not according to this programme. I think something is suspicious… to make you think you are really environmentally damaging!!! Hmmmmm…..
could well be, makes you wonder. My transport was just public and walking forget the car haha dont do them.

Shoking floods – its always on the news lol. The ‘lake’ in the lido or park w.e is rising and its getting onto the ground higher than it around it lol il try take some pictures if i can to show you miss.

i was just wondering when people say ‘only fill your kettle to how much water you need to save [erm dno wat u save] but i dont see the point when if you fill it your going to use the water away so your not wasting any..??
Matthew – basically only boil the amount of water that you need (to be boiled). Kettles use huge amounts of energy and therefore if you boil water and then don’t use it… what a waste! It is not really the wasting of water in this case (although that is important of course) moreso the wasting of energy… hope this makes sense.
